Hubballi Cops Shoot Robber in High-Speed Chase, Crime Averted

Hubballi: A swift response by Gokul Road Police thwarted a major robbery attempt in Gokul village early on Monday morning. The police not only prevented the crime but also shot one of the robbers as he tried to escape.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Mahaning Sampagavi said that a group of five to six robbers attempted to rob the residence of Rajanikanth Doddamani at around 3 am. Alert residents notified the police, who quickly arrived at the scene. While one suspect was apprehended, the others fled.

The police team, led by PSI Sachin Dasaraddi, chased the robbers and caught up with them near the Revadihal underpass. During the chase, PSI Dasaraddi fired at one suspect, identified as Mahesh Seetaram Kale, 48, to stop him from escaping. Both PSI Dasaraddi and head constable Vasant Gudageri sustained minor injuries while apprehending the robbers.

Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar visited the site of the incident and the hospital where the injured officers are recovering.
